Are We Making Progress in the Use of Bioindicatorsin Decision-Making?

One of the goals of Environmental Bioindicators Foundation (EBIF) is to foster the use ofbioindicators in decision making. According to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency(USEPA) (USEPA 2009a) bioindicators can be used for:setting protection or restoration goals; determining what to monitor and how to interpret what is found; prioritizing stressors and choosing control measures; and assessing and reporting the effectiveness of management actions.
