Robbie Ali is Director of the Center for Healthy Environments and Communities at the University of Pittsburgh's Graduate School of Public Health.He has worked for 18 years as an emergency physician and in medicine and public health in Antarctica,Australia,China,India,Indonesia,Jamaica,Madagascar,Papua New Guinea,Rwanda,St.Lucia,and Taiwan.He trained in Occupational and Environmental Medicine at the Harvard School of Public Health and is board certified in this specialty.Much of his international work is focused on helping to improve both the conservation of nature and the health of local people in the developing world.In Pittsburgh,he is particularly interested in promoting adolescent wellness and skill building,vegetarian nutrition,sustainable living,and community gardens and green spaces in low-income areas.
