摘要

Sinter Plant plays a crucial role in enhancing liquid iron production through blast furnace. In sintering machine iron ore fines along with other materials (limestone, dolomite, coal, return sinter etc.) are agglomerated first under an ignition hood at a temperature of 1300 to 1400°C and then subsequent transfer of heat through the sinter bed being facilitated by suction of hot air. The sintered product or sinter is the major input material to blast furnace for production of liquid iron. In sintering machine, hot air is sucked through sinter bed to burn coke to facilitate sintering reaction. This hot air then goes to the chimney through wind legs and wind main (Fig. 1).
