Recovery of Iron Ore Fines Concentrate from Slime by incorporation of De-Sliming Hydro- Cyclones at Meghahatuburu Mines

Meghahatuburu Iron Ore Mines is captive Mines of SAIL, which mainly caters to the need of Bokaro Steel Plant. Its processing plant is divided in two parts viz. crushing plant and screening/washing plant. In wet operation, water is added on the screen, as well as along with material feeding to screen. The adhering clays in the lumpy materials (10-40 mm) are washed off and screened out. The fines (-10 mm) are conveyed in the slurry form to rake classifiers. The rake classifier overflow is taken to a slurry tank from where it is pumped into primary hydro-cyclones. The overflow of the primary hydro-cyclone was being routed to thickener as reject.
