Effect of salt stress on the essential oil content and composition of Rosmarinus officinalis callus cultures

Callus cultures of R. officinalis L., were established in vitro from leaves segments of intact plants when cultured on MS medium supplemented with 1.0 mg/l each of NAA and BAP. Effects of salt stress on callus growth was determined and the influenceof salt stress on the yield and composition of the essential oil has been examined. The composition of essential oils from salt-stressed R. officinalis callus cultures and intact plant is presented.
