One year old El-Hamawy apricot seedlings were fertilized with three slow release N fertilizers i.e. sulphur coated urea, urea-fromaldehyde and phosphorus coasted urea as well as five fast release ones viz, ammonium sulphate, ammonium chloride urea, calcium nitrate and ammonium nitrate. They were applied at fixed rate of N i.e. 10g N per plant. The effects of such N sources were evaluated by investigating some vegetative growth and root parameters in addition to measuring the plant uptake of N and total N,NO_3 and NH_4 in the soil at the end of the experiment. The effects of these sources on silty loam, sandy loam and sandy soils were studied.
