摘要

A method to drive the snowline elevation using satellite data in combination with a digital elevation model (DEM) is presented. For many years now, Satellite data has been widely used in snow hydrology at a regional to continental scale. However, onlyfew publications deal with the use satellite data for assessing snowline elevation. The aim of this paper therefore is to investigate of satellite images accuracy for determining snowline elevation by two methods. In this study we determined the transient snowline (TSL) of Armand basin for 2 water years 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 in Iran from two satellite date: MODIS with 500m and NO A A with 1100m spatial resolution. Finally the results compared to higher resolution data from Landsat ETM+.
