The comment of Yu. S. Genshaft was published in the same issue of the journal as our paper. The latter is undoubtedly open to criticism, but the criticism of our respected opponent raises objections. Note that the paper commented by Genshaft continues the work [Glebovitsky et al., 2001], where the applicability of the garnet-orthopyroxene thermobarometer was demonstrated in a wide range of temperature and pressure, the measurement uncertainties were estimated, and pertinent references to previous publications were given. Therefore, our opponent is at least unjust, stating that the application of the barometer is not reliably substantiated.
