The effect of the blending ratio of pisolite used as a low grade iron ore on the reduction rate of synthesized sinter was investigated. A method of making a synthesized sinter for simulating commercial sinter-making was partially modified in order to prevent from cracking after sintering. Reduction rates in all the reducing stages from hematite to iron, which were estimated under the unreduced core model, increased with the bleding ratio of pisolite ore. From the mineralogical viewpoint of synthesized sinter, the fraction of good reducible hematite increased, but that of badly reducible of magnetite phase decreased with the blending ratio of pisolite ore. Also pores larger than 50μm increased with the blending ratio of pisolite ore.
