Hydrodynamic characteristics of a disc gas distributor in classical and modified pulsed fluidized bed (PFB) systems were investigated. The equations for the local flow coefficient and pressure drop in the distributor have been developed. The equations can be used in calculations of power consumption in PFB dryers. The experimental findings indicate that the pressure drop of a rotational gas distributor in the PFB with modified pulsation is lower than in a standard PFB which can influence the invest costs of PFB dryers.
