New Study Sees No 'Peak Oil' Supply Constraints Through 2030

A new study dismisses talk of an imminent peak in global oil supply and argues that when oil production does eventually top out it will follow an "undulating plateau" rather than sinking into rapid decline. IHS Cambridge Energy Research Associates (Cera) projects that global production capacity for liquids will reach 115 million barrels per day in 2030, up from about 92 million b/d now. The definition of liquids includes crude oil, condensate, extra heavy oil, natural gas liquids and biofuels.
