Taqa Reopens Dutch Rijn Field

Abu Dhabi-based Taqa has restarted oil production from the Rijn field offshore the Netherlands, 12 years after the field was shut in. Right now, it is producing about 3,500 b/d. The field - in Block P15 40 km north- west of Rotterdam in water depths of 25 meters - first produced oil in 1985. Since acquiring Rijn in 2007, Taqa has completed workovers on five oil-produc- ing wells and five water-injection wells, and upgraded the Taqa-operated P15-C offshore facilities.
