Worried about the impact of the ongoing global economic downturn, Australia has pushed back plans to introduce a carbon emissions trading scheme (ETS) to 2011, one year later than originally scheduled (IOD Mar.11,p7). Prime Minister Kevin Rudd announced the delay in Australia's proposed plan to address climate change on Monday in Canberra.
