Taiwan's Products Consumption Falls on Weakening Demand

Weakening domestic demand prompted by the global economic turmoil drove down Taiwan's 2008 oil product demand by 4.7% to 889,000 barrels per day on the back of a 2.6% decline in energy demand to 2.06 mil-lion b/d, according to latest data from the Bureau of Energy. Representing the third time Taiwan's yearly products demand has fallen, the latest decline is much bigger in magnitude those in 2002 (0.57%) and 2005 (0.06%).
