Gazprom Ups Azeri Gas Purchase

Russia's Gazprom said Tuesday it had doubled natural gas purchases from Azerbaijan under a medium-term contract with Azeri state Socar. "Starting from Mar. 5, daily gas supplies from that country have been doubled to 3 million cubic meters," Gazprom chief Alexei Miller said in a statement. "We are pleased with that fact and confirm that Gazprom is ready to purchase all gas that Azerbaijan will provide us with," he said.
