At the end of March ICN and its sister organisation, the Florence Nightingale International Foundation, most commonly referred to as FNIF, released the report on its two-year study of the nursing shortage. Titled Global Nursing Shortage: Priority Areas for Intervention, the report can be found on the ICN website: http://icn.ch/global in English, French and Spanish.For two years we talked with nurses, policy makers, planners, politicians, funders, regulators, patients, other professions -anyone and everyone - about the nursing shortage and what action needed to be taken. Over and over again the workplace was a common theme.
