摘要

A Runge-Kutta-Merson (RKM) numericalintegration algorithm for creep damage analysis is presented inthis paper. The continuum damage constitutive model was alsoimplemented. In addition, the criteria to select integration timeinterval were also proposed. The present method is suitable forthe prediction of creep crack initiation and growth in solids andthe corresponding residual life using the continuum damageapproach. A finite element method (FEM) program wasdeveloped and verified. The accuracy and efficiency of theproposed algorithm are demonstrated by the solution of a thickcylinder problem subjected to an internal pressure.
