Fleming et al.'s article in this issue reports results from a trial of reuse prevention (RUP) syringes to reconstitute vaccine (i.e., to transfer diluent from a vial or ampoule to a vial of freeze-dried vaccine). In the trial, health care workers in Indonesia reported that several models of RUP syringes were easy to use, improved injection safety, and could be conveniently delivered along with other supplies for immunizations.
