Response to the letter by Dr. Bellelli, Raglio and Trabucchi's article 'music intervention against agitated behavior in elderly persons with dementia: A cost-effective perspective'

I would like to thank Dr. Bellelli, Raglio and Trabucchi for their attention on the issue. Their article addressed that the results of our previous study entitled "Effectiveness of group music intervention against agitated behavior in elderly persons with dementia" (Lin et ah, 2011) confirm their recent findings (Raglio et ah, 2008; Raglio et ah, 2010). It is extremely important to compare data from different countries with similar study design and patient population. Bellelli et ah hypothesize three to four patients per group and calculate a cost of ?25 for each session of music intervention, with a total cost of ?300 for 12 sessions per 12 groups. Actually, in our study, 10-14 patients with dementia were recruited per group.
