This article describes use of specific business rules management systems in Russian telecommunications sector. Hypothesis of this study is the assumption of need to automate the selection of sets of communication services taking into account social and demographic characteristics of the clients. Process automation is presented in the form of models, which built in Visual Rules product, developed by BOSCH company. Set of models represented part of the decision support system, which, through XML-environment and using SOAP-architecture allows managers to automate the process of selecting communication services. Provides examples of the developed models of global and an embedded rule flow and the results of their performance in such type of systems. Visual Rules offers companies an intuitive graphical approach to introducing business rules management. This makes it popular not only with IT and the business departments that use it, but also with analysts - all of whom give it an excellent rating. The model-based approach takes everyone into account and measurably shortens the time it takes to develop and implement new versions of existing rules. Visual Rules provides comprehensive support to companies that need to define and build up user roles and how they interact, ensuring that the rules and roles comply with policies and that any changes made to them are documented in an audit proof manner. This even applies within heterogeneous teams whose members serve a variety of different tenants from various locations. The article is recommended for graduate students, IT-professionals and business analysts in telecommunication companies.
