摘要

Coal is an important source of fuel to meet India's energy demands. However, from the viewpoint of fuel availability and fuel cost, it will be necessary for power companies to use low rank coal with more ash content. Coal is the most abundant fossil fuel resource in the country. India has the fifth largest coal reserves in the world. The Indian coal is characterized by its high ash content (approx. 45%) and low sulphur content. The power sector is the largest consumer of coal followed by the iron and steel and cement segments. Coal characteristics vary widely from one coalfield to another. The objective of this study is to experimentally investigate the influence of ash content on heat absorption patterns in the boiler.
