A system stabilizing the frequency of a He-Ne laser by the methane absorption frequency is described. The reproducibility of the laser frequency is determined by features of the electronic part, primarily characteristics of the synchronous detector. The drift of the designed synchronous detector is less than 30μV within a frequency band of 20-50℃, which accounts for 0.0003% of the input signal dynamic range. The gain-frequency product is 10{sup}5 Hz in a frequency range of 0.0003-1 Hz.
