Leading zirconia producer Astron Ltd has formed a joint venture agreement with Australian Zirconia Ltd (AZL) to assist development of the Dubbo zirconia project, located about 20km south of Dubbo, New South Wales, Australia. Under the terms of the agreement, Astron will fund all expenditure for the completion of a final development plan (FDP) within three years of the commencement date, while AZL, a 100 percent owned subsidiary of Perth-based Alkane Exploration Ltd, will be responsible for managing the FDP Astron will also assist with access to financing options for the project and on completion of the FDP Astron will be entitled to a 50 percent stake in the Dubbo zirconia project.
