Hong Kong Great Wall Trading Development Ltd (HKGWTD), of Dalian, China, has significantly expanded its mineral activities with recent magnesite and talc acquisitions in south-east Liaoning. Through its parent, Great Wall Refractory Group, one of China's leading magnesite exporters, HKGWTD has recently acquired a "new and big" open pit magnesite mine at Xiuyan, south-east Liaoning province. This mine, quite close to the border with North Korea, is east of the main magnesite mining areas of Haicheng and Dashiqiao.
