Magnetic acquires Mindarra Springs minsands project

Australian mineral sands group Magnetic Minerals Ltd has acquired an 800k interest in the Mindarra Springs heavy minerals project, 95km north of Perth in Western Australia. The remaining 20 percent share is held by a private party.The property, which includes the Mindarra North, Mindarra South and McCalls deposits, was formerly owned by BHP Minerals, but the Australian mining giant relinquished the retention licence in 1999 following the closure of its Beenup mine and a review of its other titanium minerals interests (see IM April '99, p.9).
