Starck acquires TeCe

H.C. Starck GmbH, the German producer of intermediates for engineering ceramics, has completed its acquisition of TeCe Technical Ceramics GmbH. TeCe is a subsidiary of Hamburg-based Deutsche Shell GmbH, and manufactures components from engineering ceramics.Starck, an affiliate of Bayer AG, has acquired TeCe to complement the activities of its subsidiary CFI - Ceramics for Industry, a research-based company that specialises in components made from silicon nitride. TeCe mainly makes components from silicon carbide, but also from silicon nitride and alumina.
