Poland outstrips Russia for paint

Poland's paint demand is expected to reach 2.20m. tonnes in 2012, overtaking Russia as the biggest paint market in the region, according to a study by Information Research Ltd (IRL). The markets of Poland and Russia are currently very similar, estimated to be about 1.25m. tonnes. Paint currently consumes nearly 60 percent of all TiO_2 produced world wide which alone had sale of around 9,000 million dollars. (see IM August '06, p.44) and many TiO_2 produces in eastern Europe are upgrading facilities (see IM January '06,p.31).
