From Russia to F1 with love

There have been rumours of troubles for the Sauber team for some time, but it looks like the Swiss outfit might be put back on the straight and narrow by some friends of Russian president Vladimir Putin. He signed a long-term deal for a Russian Grand Prix a couple of years ago, and the first event is due to take place on a track in the Olympic Park in Sochi at some point next year. There has been a steady stream of stories suggesting that things are not going according to plan in Sochi, with rumours of poor foundation work that will give the track a very limited life expectancy. For the moment, these are all being denied, but the word is that the Russian GP could be relocating to Moscow or St Petersburg in 2015, using a street circuit.
