HONDA HAS FACELIFTED its popular and versatile CR-V soft-roader for 2010. Aesthetic updates are kept to a minimum, but there are significant changes under the bonnet. The most notable of these, and driven here, is the addition of an automatic gearbox option for diesel models. The 2.2-litre common rail i-DTEC diesel motor has been breathed on to liberate fractionally more torque and power, and also clean up its particulate emissions. It's smoother and quieter too, although there are as many gains in cabin soundproofing as on the engine itself.
