The "current economic situation" (as Radio 4 calls it) has had a profound effect on used car prices across the board, but nowhere more so than in the luxury market. There was a time, not so long ago, when there was a clear price divide between big 'poorly badged' motors (think Ford and Vauxhall) and so-called premium brands. But that line has become distinctly fuzzy in recent months; fact is, there is no shortage of big-engined comfy cars on the market, and for not much cash. It's just a question of definition as you veer between big, pretentiously executive and chauffeur-spec limos.
