EXPORTS OF INDIAN SILK GOODS: ISSUES OF GROWTH AND INSTABILITY

摘要

The prime objective of this paper was to quantify the magnitude of growth and the extent of instability in export earnings of Indian silk goods. The study indicated that exports of silk goods grew rapidly in the period between 1976-77 and 2005-06. The rate of growth was higher in the pre -liberalization period compared to that of the post - liberalization period. The instability analysis indicated that the fluctuations in the exports earnings were primarily due to the higher variations in the quantum. of exports in the post - liberalization period.
