ANEW RECORD OF GUMMOSIS DISEASE IN MULBERRY (MORUSSPP.) CAUSED BY MACROPHOMINA PHAEOLINA

摘要

Several diseases affecting mulberry are the limiting factors for successful mulberry cultivation. These diseases are caused by the fungi, bacteria and nematode. Almost all the varieties of mulberry are susceptible to diseases in varying degrees. Recently, an incidence of new disease like Gummosis outbreak was observed in rainfed mulberry variety S-13 maintained as dwarf tree in the bunds of mulberry plantation at Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute, Mysore, during the month of summer, 2014. The age of the trees was 10-12 years and disease severity was found to be 4-6%.
