Record of molluscan pests in mulberry gardens in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra State, India.

摘要

The Molluscans as a pest of agriculture and horticulture have already been known in many a regions. The present paper deals with the three molluscan pests viz., the Giant African snail, Achatina fulica (Bowdich.,1822), Land snail, Rachis punctatus (Anton, 1839) and Slug, Laevicaulis alte (Ferussac, 1822) observed in mulberry fields of the Aurangabad district, during two annual cycles i.e. from June, 2009-May, 2011. It is observed that the mulberry leaves from snail fed plants are not suitable for feeding silkworm as they are found to be nutritionally inferior and not preferred by the silkworms as well.
