Selection Of Optical Emission Spectrometer (OES) for Better Control of Process and Quality in Foundry

In recent times, spectrometer is an essential instrument in foundries and metal-working factories to ensure quality of the metal and alloys. This paper has made an attempt to help the indenters for right selection of spectrometer from the users' point of view. There is no scope for discussing the details of the related theories in the paper. Foundries producing value-added quality castings for applications in Railways, automobiles and aerospace services often need spectrometer for accurate analysis. RDSO has already made the use of spectrometer mandatory for the vendors producing Railway castings.
