Pan coefficient determination for evapotranspiration at Indore, Madhya Pradesh

摘要

In the present study, site-specific value of pan coefficient for different seasons has been worked out to compute reference evapotranspiration (ET_0) instead of using the generalized value of pan coefficient based on the meteorological classification. Further the Penman method modified by Doorenbos and Pruitt (1977) is used to calculate the value of pan coefficient for different climatic (summer, monsoon and winter) and cropping (zaid, kharif and rabi) seasons, By considering these values for calculating ET_0 optimum irrigation water has been worked for different crops in and around semi-arid Indore region of Madhya Pradesh.
