Cultivation of Milky Mushroom (Calocybe indica)

摘要

The ever increasing population particularly in third world countries is creating problem of food and nutritional security, health and employment. Increase in crops' production is resulting in agricultural wastes in abundance throughout the world creating environmental pollution. These can be used to produce mushrooms thus generating valuable food with better nutritional and medicinal values, enormous employment and spent mushroom substrate can be used to produce organic manure for the field crops. Inthis context milky mushroom has a great scope in our country. This is a tropical mushroom which can be grown from 25 to 3 5° C directly on wheat straw, has white fruit bodies and has long shelf life. In the article its cultivation is described.
