Evaluation of Different Compost Formulations For White Button Mushroom Cultivation

Six compost formulations based on wheat straw supplemented with chicken manure, wheat bran, cotton seed meal, cotton seed cake, soybean meal and urea were evaluated for Agaricus bisporus ( white button mushroom) production. Of the formulations tried formulation based on 70 and 7 % addition of chicken manure and cotton seed cake respectively, to the wheat straw produced more compost with highest yield. Further, it was also noticed that formulations had not much bearings on the physical parameters andfungal flora of the compost.
