THE PRODUCTION OF TOTAL nutrients (N+P2O5) at 1.257 million tonnes during January 2008, registered a decline of 9.1% over January 2007. The production of N at 0.940 million tonnes during January 2008, declined by 6.7% over January 2007. The production of P2O5 at 0.317 million tonnes, registered a decline of 15.5% during the period. Most of the fertilisers recorded negative growth during Jan.'08 compared to Jan.'07, barring 19-19-19 and 10-26-26, which witnessed positive growth during the period. The production of N and P2O5 fell short by 133.8 and 108.6 thousand tonnes, respectively, from the target during January 2008. The capacity utilisation of N reduced from 100.5% during January 2007 to 93.8% during January 2008. Similarly, the capacity utilisation of P2O5 declined from 80.3% to 68% during the period.
