Production of fertilizer nutrients N and P2Os showed mixed trend during January 2020 over January 2019. Production of N at 1.241 million metric tonnes (MMT) registered marginal increase of 0.6%, during the period. However, production of P2Os at 0.406 MMT during January 2020 fell by 6.6% over January 2019. Among the major fertilizers, production of urea and SSP increased by 1.5% and 9.9%, respectively, during January 2020 over January 2019. Whereas, production of DAP and NP/NPK complex fertilizers declined by 12.1% and 5.3%, respectively, during the period. Capacity utilization of N increased from 103.3% during January 2019 to 103.9% during January 2020. In case of P2Os it reduced from 73.3% to 68.3% during the same period. Production of N and P2Os fell short from the respective targets by 35.6 thousand tonnes and 45.2 thousand tonnes during January 2020.
