The production of N at 1.096 million tonnes and P2O5 at 0.403 million tonnes registered increase of 1.6% and 8.3%, respectively, during January 2012 oyer January 2011. Among the major fertiliser products, while the production of urea registered a marginal increase of 0.2%, DAP recorded a sharp increase of 31.8% during January 2012 over January 2011. However, the production of NP/NPK complex fertilisers declined by 9.4%, during the same period. Production of N and P2O5 fell short by 65.2 and 28.3 thousand tonnes, respectively, from the target during January 2012. The capacity utilisation of N and P2O5 improved from 106.4% and 72.4% during January 2011 to 106.7% and 78.1%, respectively, during January 2012.
