FAB-IZA Team Visits Customised Fertiliser Experiments in West Bengal

FAI in collaboration with International Zinc Association, Brussels, organised one day symposium on " Improving Crop Production & Human Health" at Kolkata on 11th Feb 2011. Subsequently, senior officials visited experiment on customised fertiliser on potato crop organized by Tata Chemicals Ltd in village Pownan, District Hugli, West Bengal on 12th February 2011. Potato growers are excited about the new approach of customised fertilisers which is specific to area and crop. Crop cutting experiments conducted on the spot showed better performance of customised fertiliser over current farmers practice.
