Select Pumps or Proper Specific Speeds and Save

The subject of specific speed of centrifugal pump is not one discussed often and hence remains in the back. However, the topic is sufficiently important as the hydraulic efficiency of centrifugal pumps very much depends on specific speed, as shown in this article. Specifying pumps of high specific speeds for new applications, recalculating specific speeds of pumps in service and retrofitting new ones of high specific speed will pay rich dividends as discussed with examples in this article.
