The production of N at 0.901 million metric tonnes (MMT) declined by 11.2% during March 2014 over March 2013. Conversely, the production of P2O5 at 0.300 MMT increased by 5.3% during the same period. Despite sharp increase in NP/NPKs, the fall in Urea, DAP and SSP production led to decline in terms of total nutrients during March 2014 compared to March 2013. Production of NP/NPK complex fertilisers rose by 41.6% in March 2014 compared to March 2013. Whereas, the production of urea and DAP registered a decline of 15.6% and 0.4%, respectively, during the same period. Production of N and P2O5 fell short by 51.9 and 45.7 thousand tonnes from the respective targets during March 2014. The capacity utilisation of N reduced from 92.6% during March 2013 to 80.4% during March 2014. However, the capacity utilisation of P2O5 increased from 54.5% to 57.5% during the same period.
