It was a rare collection of meticulously-restored oddball and orphan tractors, short-lived brands that popped up like mushrooms right after World War II--American, Gibson, Intercontinental, Farm Master, Haas, Simpson Jumbo, OMC, Brockway.To some people these names meant nothing, but to Ed Spiess they meant everything. He championed, collected and restored them. He even created a more appropriate moniker for them "Lesser Known Classics." And the name stuck.
