The recent passage of the Automotive Transformation Scheme Bill 2009, a $3.4 billion co-investment scheme designed to stimulate innovation and investment in the industry, is a powerful indication of the Federal Government's commitment to a sustainable Australian Automotive industry. SAE-A welcomes this initiative as a mandatory pre-requisite to the viability of our industry. We are sure our members would rather work towards a sustainable future, rather than focus on the recent job losses as a sign of the "beginning of the end" and live a self fulfilling prophecy.
