The experts who spend their working days worrying about the future of transportation who gathered in Paris in June for the eighth running of Michelin's Challenge Bibendum - a rally and symposium on sustainable mobility - believe the internal combustion engine will be with us for quite some time. For those of us with gasoline running in our veins, that means we needn't fret much about the short term. Even with U.S. fuel prices soaring to record highs, there appears to be, depending upon whom you talk with, a few decades - or more - of supply left. It's just that fossil fuels will share the stage with other forms of propulsion.
