Docteur Paul Tessier, chirurgien plastique: a personal remembrance.

I first met Paul Tessier in a way that, I believe, was quite different than most people. I must admit, as a neurosurgeon in 1977, I did have an interest in craniofacial surgery, albeit nascent. To this end, I traveled to the Hospital for Sick Children at the invitation of Bruce Hendricks to witness a craniofacial surgery performed by Ian Mu-nro. I was introduced to Ian and shortly thereafter was lectured by Ian regarding the perceived proliferation of craniofacial units and the fact that Milwaukee was very close to Toronto and thus should not have a craniofacial surgery unit, as it would dilute the experience of established craniofacial units.
