Unmanned and connected testing

Across 620 acres of dedicated testing space, NCCAR offers specific land-based vehicle capabilities, facilities, and support to manufacturers. North Carolina Center for Automotive Research (NCCAR) is an independent, non-profit 501(c)(3) vehicle testing facility with secure and confidential facilities located in northeastern North Carolina (1 mile off Interstate 195 and just 5 miles south of the Virginia state line). Vehicle testing facilities include a two-mile ride and handling course with 90ft grass run-off shoulders and minimal barriers; a 2-acre vehicle dynamics area with high-speed entry; 2.5 miles of off-road trails; and a 7-acre dirt area. The 620-acre site also includes a 24,000ft~2 operations building featuring meeting rooms, office suites, and six modular, two-storey confidential client garages. An integrated Cisco IT system supports voice, data, access, video, and high-speed WiFi throughout the site.
