Plant density impacts Kaspa field peas grain yield

HISTORICALLY the pea varieties grown in South Australia have almost totally been tall conventional, trailing types like Dundale, Alma and more recently Parafield. During the last few years a number of shorter semi-leafless types have become availableto SA growers but have not been readily uptaken due to a variety of reasons. Kaspa is a semi-leafless, medium-height, high yielding, downy mildew and shatter resistant new pea release from the Victorian pea breeding module of the national pea breeding program (ACPIP).
