Projects give a new lease of life to pastoral WA

THE GASCOYNE Murchison Strategy (GMS) has ended after seven I years of developing and implementing a swag of projects. These projects totalled 45 million dollar and were directed at one of the biggest regional adjustment strategies in Australia. Covering 57 million hectares (equivalent to two-thirds of New South Wales) and 231 pastoral leases, the Gascoyne Murchison region was experiencing the all too familiar pressures of social and economic decline, drought and decreasing regional investment.
